Valentine's Day is only about a week and a half away, so it's time to start thinking about what you'll get the partner in your life. Instead of running to the Americana at the last minute, consider supporting one of the many small businesses that populate the east side of Los Angeles.

No matter what your budget, you can find something that will fit the personality of your sweetheart in a locally owned shop. Your significant other will love that you got something special and that you gave your business to someone in the community.

Not sure where to start your Valentine's Day gift search? You can start by strolling the shops on Vermont Ave in Los Feliz or Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake and Echo Park. Atwater Village is also a great place to find unique gifts.

Did you procrastinate too long and no there's no time for some leisurely window shopping? Then check out this Valentine's Day shopping guide to the east side.

1. Larchmont Sanctuary Spa

This spa in Larchmont Village has some great Valentine's Day Specials that you can use on that weekend, including one package called "The Vow". For $879 the deal includes a couples massage and facial, 20 minutes in their copper jacuzzi with sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries, plus two luxury robes to take home. They also offer similar packages that are a little more affordable.

2. Vinovore

Silver Lake's hip wine store Vinovore focuses on showcasing and stocking wines from female winemakers. You can stop by the shop and pick up a bottle or two to celebrate on Valentine's Day or you can order a "Beast Box" to give your partner. They can put together a gift box for practically any budget with price tiers starting at $25. Another gift option is their Wolf Pack Wine Club with subscription packages available for $45 or $75 a month.

3. House of Intuition

House of Intuition is a metaphysical store with locations in Echo Park, Pasadena, West Hollywood and more. In addition to their store, they also offer a slew of services that would be a great gift for a partner who has a spiritual side. Are they up for a big promotion and want to know if they're going to get it? Get them a gift certificate for a tarot, clairvoyant or astrological natal chart reading.

4. Treehaus

Treehaus is a main shopping destination in Atwater Village on Glendale Blvd. Open daily from 10-6, take a trip to their storefront or shop any time online. Here you can find something for everyone as they offer men's, women's and children's clothes, jewelry, accessories, home goods, and more.

5. Under New Mgmt

Getting a dozen red roses for Valentine's Day might be nice, but it's not that exciting. If your partner likes flowers but you want to give them something with a little more flair, order them a bouquet or arrangement from the Los Angeles floral company Under New Mgmt. Their arrangements are hip, fun, and can be easily customized with dyed flowers, rhinestones, and more.
