Hollywood Hills Neighborhood
Hollywood Hills makes up one of the most affluent and exclusive neighborhoods of Los Angeles. It is made up of ten neighborhoods: Beachwood Canyon, Hollywood Heights, Laurel Canyon, Mount Olympus, Nichols Canyon, Outpost Estates, Sunset Flats, Sunset Hills, Whitley Heights and Hollywood Dell. Due to the centralized location and affluent housing, it is one of the most in-demand residential areas in Los Angeles. The area is almost exclusively residential, and is zoned for Hollywood Schools, most notably the famous Hollywood High School. Commercial districts in the area are generally small and located instead in nearby Hollywood.
Hollywood Dell
The Hollywood Dell is immediately adjacent to Hollywood and area homes are generally built on the hills, although they lack the views found on Sunset Hills or Whitley Heights. While the housing is certainly more expensive than elsewhere in LA, it is more affordable than what is found in the immediately adjacent Hollywood and is thus popular with up-and-coming stars as well as those who work behind the scenes. The Hollywood Dell is immediately adjacent to the Hollywood Bowl, and some back yards effectively receive “free” concerts.
Whitley Heights - Sunset Hills
Sunset Flats, Sunset Hills and Whitley Heights are home to some of the most expensive houses in all of Los Angeles, with mansions selling for $5 million dollars or more on a routine basis. As such, these regions are monopolized by film stars, directors and corporate executives. The houses in this neighborhood are almost exclusively mansions, generally built to exacting standards of luxury and quality. These neighborhoods are known for their hillside location and astonishing view, allowing for a complete view of Los Angeles on clear days.
Hollywood Heights
Hollywood Heights is a neighborhood in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles, California, flanked by Highland Avenue, Outpost Drive, Franklin Avenue, and the Hollywood Bowl.
Laurel Canyon
Laurel Canyon was originally outside of Los Angeles and is one of the more remote Hollywood Hills regions. It was a major locus of counter-culture in the 1960s and was home to many popular rock musicians, most notably Joni Mitchell. The area remains exclusively residential and popular with modern bohemians and musicians.
Outpost Estates
Mount Olympus, Nichols Canyon and Outpost Estates are all single-family home residential districts within the Hollywood Hills. Due to their location and the large number of film stars and directors who have lived in these houses, they have been used often in movies and television shows. All of these neighborhoods are known for having large, modern houses that are high in demand. A number of the buildings in the area are mansion-like in terms of size.
Spaulding Square
Spaulding Square is bound by Fairfax Ave on the west, Stanley Avenue on the east, Sunset Blvd on the north, and Fountain Avenue on the south. This is mainly a residential community, composed of middle class historic homes.
